Andro12C: the financial calculator for Android

Andro12C is a HP 12C emulator for Android. It implements all features of the original calculator, including programming functions. It is available via Android's App Market, in two versions: free and donation.

Andro12C uses the same engine of the time-proven HP 12C Web emulator. It aims to mimic all features (and limitations) of the real device.

Characteristics

The emulator mimics the 12C calculator as closely as practically possible, including details such as rounding up of n in financial calculations. It shares the same limitations as an original 12C: only 99 programming steps, 20 memory positions, etc.

Many emulators offer an ancilliary screen to query the contents of financial and statistical registers, and/or programming opcodes. Not this one :) The access interface is strictly the one you have in the real 12C.

Actually, if you find any discrepancies in relationship to a real unit, and they are not mentioned in following section, chances are you found a bug and I kindly ask you to report it.

Differences from real calculator

First of all, it is important to mention that the emulator engine does not use a ROM dump. It is a clean-room implementation, based mainly on calculator's manual plus experimentation. So the results simply can not guaranteed to be exactly equal.

The main interface deviation is the ON key, which toggles between decimal point and comma, and can't turn off the emulator. (In the real 12C, you do this by turning on while pressing decimal point.)

Other known deviations:

Terms of use

The emulator is offered "as is". There are no guarantees of precision, exactness, or aplicability to any given purpose. The developer has no responsability for any damages incurring from usage of this software.

This sounds scary, but it is actually the usual conditions for most software and even hardware (including calculators!). Always double-check results against other sources if you are going to take some actual financial decision!
